Summary of Bond Scope

BONDS TO CONSTRUCT, RENOVATE, MAINTAIN JUNIOR HIGH AND DISTRICT FACILITIES

Shall District construct/renovate Junior High, replace, renovate and maintain District facilities by issuing general obligation bonds not exceeding $10,500,000?  If the bonds are approved, they will be payable from taxes on property or property ownership that are not subject to the limits of sections 11 and 11b, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution.

If approved, this measure would finance the construction/renovation of Banks Junior High School.  It would also replace/renovate and maintain School District facilities to meet current building safety standards and improve efficiency of school operations.  Specifically, bond proceeds are expected to:

  • Construct, furnish, equip new and renovated Junior High facilities including classrooms for general education, science, technology, special education; library; other building/campus improvements.
  • Renovate, construct/upgrade, maintain, furnish and equip School District facilities including high school science classroom and other building/campus improvements.
  • Make other safety, security code upgrades and site improvements including upgrades to heating systems, fire alarm and sprinkler systems and campus lighting.
  • Construct emergency vehicle access to elementary school.
  • Pay costs for demolition, temporary classrooms and bond issuance fees.

Bonds would mature in twenty-six (26) years or less from issuance and may be issued in one or more series.
